On 23 June 2022, the Hungarian Book Corner at the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA) received an update. 30 new titles, in English, Hungarian and Dutch, for both young and old, were added to the Hungarian collection at OBA’s House of All Languages. The Netherlands’ first official Hungarian Book corner now consists of over 160 that aim to appeal to everyone who wants to learn more about Hungary and its culture.

With the expansion the book corner moved to a larger location on the 5th floor of the library at Oosterdokskade 143, Amsterdam. Here one can find informative books and novels, in Hungarian, English and several Dutch translations. Besides books from Hungarian authors, there are also translations available for readers who like to read well-known Dutch writers in Hungarian. For the younger readers Hungarian children's books are available at a special children’s book corner on the -1 level of the OBA.

The Hungarian book corner at the OBA was officially launched in the autumn of 2020, please find the promotion video here. Special postcards with a quote from the noted Hungarian scholar and writer Antal Szerb and his book Journey by Moonlight (Utas és holdvilág, 1937) are now also available at the book corner.
