In 2020, the Embassy of Hungary in The Hague has set up an exciting collaboration with the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA). The OBA now hosts the first official Hungarian book corner in The Netherlands as part of their House of All Languages collection.

The Hungarian collection aims to appeal to everyone who wants to learn more about Hungary and its culture. It consists of over 130 books, both informative books and novels, in Hungarian, English and several Dutch translations. Besides the books from Hungarian authors, there are also translations available for readers who like to read well-known Dutch writers in Hungarian. For the younger readers Hungarian children's books are available.

The collection was officially launched with a promotion video. To fully promote Hungarian literature and the book corner the Embassy has also organised an on- and offline campaign with large sized posters showing great Hungarian authors, some of their works and quotes and social media images designed by illustrators that will be exhibited and posted throughout the coming months.

*Due to the epidemiological situation the OBA is currently closed, but books can still be ordered online and picked up at one of their locations.
