Booking an appointment

An electronically booked appointment is required to visit the consulate. Exceptions can be made in case of a consular emergency alone, based on justifiable grounds (e.g. urgent travel document request of Hungarian citizens having lost their passports, urgent request for consular protection) and following prior phone or e-mail consultation with the consulate. Booking multiple appointments for a single case is not allowed. In case of multiple bookings, all appointments can be cancelled without notification. Following a no-show, clients who fail to notify the consulate in advance can receive a negative ranking when making a new appointment.

Preparing for your appointment with the consulate

Please consult our website as well as the information provided in the appointment system for each case type carefully. It is advised to download and fill in (without signing) application forms from our website in advance (in Hungarian).

Handling your case

Clients are expected according to their appointments booked. In the interest of other clients we cannot accept delays, therefore we kindly ask you to always be on time. In lack of justification and prior notice, a new appointment might be requested. You can file your application exclusively in a case type you made a booking for. Should the completion of documents be necessary, the case will be dealt with only once all obligatory documents have been presented. Paying the consular fee is a prerequisite for handling the case. Maestro debit cards (PIN) are accepted for paying consular fees, please note that credit cards are not. Requesting an expedited procedure is not possible.
