Every summer, The International Holland Music Sessions attracts more than 100 young musical talents from all over the world. The TIHMS Summer Academy lasts three weeks. During this period, the talents receive lessons from great teachers. In a period of five weeks, the musicians give over 150 concerts, in about 25 different locations throughout the Netherlands.

The 2018 edition of the festival welcomes 14 Hungarian musicians. They include the Ingenium Trio (with Ke Li, Mátyás Hotzi and András Moldoványi), Orion Trio (with Róza Lachegyi, Ágnes Márkus and Gergely Kovács), Minona String Quartet (with Sára Szabó, Violetta Haraszti, Kinga Dauner and Rebeka Bettermann), Pál Hermann Ensemble (with Bálint Krupps, Barnabás Baranyai and Ádám Menyhei), Balázs Dolfin and Gergely Devich. The participation of a great number of these musicians is made possible by the Paul Hermann fund.

On Tuesday 8 August, three representatives of the Embassy of Hungary, including Cultural Manager Saskia Molema attended a TIHMS event in Bergen. This included a concert by the Pál Hermann Ensemble and a lecture by the Leo Smit Foundation.

During the lecture, Eleonore Pameijer and Carine Alders of the Leo Smit Foundation introduced the unknown repertoire of composers who were persecuted during the Second World War. The ladies focused on composers who lived and worked in the Netherlands in the pre-war period, among four of which were Hungarian; Pál Hermann, Zoltán Székely, Géza Frid and Ferenc Weisz.

The lecture was alternated by short performances by the Pál Hermann Ensemble, which played pieces by Pál Hermann. His daughter Corrie Hermann was present during the event.
