On 6 and 7 March, the Embassy invites you to the Hungarian film Budapest Noir (with English subtitles). The film will be made available online to all those who live in the Netherlands and are interested.

Budapest Noir
Hungarian crime, drama. Directed by Éva Gárdos, Hungary, 2017, 95 min. With Krisztián Kolovratnik, Réka Tenki, János Kulka.

Set in the politically troubled autumn of 1936, this story follows Zsigmond Gordon, a world-weary reporter asking unwanted questions about the seemingly unimportant murder of a young beautiful girl. The crime reporter has a gut feeling that things are not what they seem.

Gordon's investigation leads him deep into the city's dark underbelly. A shady world of boxing rings, powerful crime syndicates and communist cells - all the way to the highest echelons of power, where one of Hungary's most influential business figures plans to make a fortune through his political ties to Germany's leadership - if he can somehow keep his Jewish heritage a secret...
