Last week (3 -7 April) the Go Short International Short Film Festival Nijmegen took place for the 11th time. Go Short is the international stage in the Netherlands for the best recent European short films. More than 300 short films are screened at the Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying festival that attracts around 20.000 visitors.

With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Budapest and the Hungarian Embassy in The Hague, Hungary was the festival's focus country this edition. 22 Hungarian films were shown in total, in the genres "animation", "new talent" and "experimental". Various makers and representatives from the Hungarian film industry were present to answer the questions from the audience.

During the ceremonial opening of the special program on April 4, Kirsten Ruber, director of the festival, Councilor of the Municipality Nijmegen Noël Vergunst and Ambassador András Kocsis spoke about the lively film culture in which Hungarian films receive more and more raving reviews.
