Hungary and the Netherlands signed a letter of intent to further strengthen their cooperation by setting up a research center on human trafficking at the University of Pécs.

On 31 March 2021, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Hungarian Ambassador in The Hague András Kocsis, Dutch Ambassador in Budapest René van Hell, Chief of Police of The Hague Paul van Musscher and Rector of the University of Pécs Dr. Attila Miseta.

After months of preparatory work, the memorandum is an important milestone, as it raises the already well-functioning police cooperation to a scientific level, expressing the intention of the parties to contribute even more effectively to the research center by encouraging PhD research, supporting relevant research projects and publishing brochures about human trafficking.
