From 3 to 7 August, dozens of organisations, hundreds of volunteers and thousands of visitors shone a spotlight on traditional sports during the European Sports for all Games. Friesland welcomed teams from 20 countries with 50 traditional sports.

The aim of the event, which was organized within the framework of the European Capital of Culture Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, is that people can see, feel and experience the passion for sports and movement together, and that everyone can participate on his or her own level.

One of the twenty participating countries was Hungary, which was represented by the Hungarian Leisure Sport Association (Magyar Szabadidősport Szövetség).

The Hungarian team presented the following traditional games: Ring throwing, Puli run, Horse shoe holding, Flying beanbags, Buzzer, Waist Pulling, Pulling the Stick, Hungarian whip cracking, Nine men's morris, Wooden skittles, Chicken beat, Folkball and Woodenfishing.

The Hungarian games were presented on 3, 5, 6 and 7 August in Grou, the city center of Sneek, Starteiland Sneek and Heerenveen.

Three representatives of the Embassy of Hungary, including Cultural Manager Saskia Molema, visited the European Sports of all Games on the Starteiland Sneek on Monday 6 August.

Regional newspaper the Leeuwarder Courant complimented the Hungarian team and wrote in this article that the Hungarians were by far the most unique, in terms of the games they presented.
