On 26 September 2023, the Embassy of Hungary, as part of EUNIC Netherlands, celebrated the European Day of Languages. In the afternoon, high school students followed short Hungarian language classes together with other European languages at the Goethe Institut in Amsterdam.
In the evening the program, a series of ‘speak-dating’ sessions took place at the Amsterdam public library. The sessions were short one-on-one lessons conducted by a native speaker assisting participants to briefly get acquainted with languages such as Hungarian.
The European Day of Languages is an initiative of the Council of Europe and aims to bring attention to all the languages in Europe promoting the value of learning languages.
