The opening of the exhibition ’From Sweden to Sardinia: Embroidered garments from all over Europe’ with special accent on Hungarian regional textiles took place on 30 August at the Textile Research Centre Leiden.
Attendees were greeted by TRC director Dr Gillian Vogelsang-Eastwood, Ms Gieneke Arnolli, Chair of the Nederlandse Kostuumvereniging and Mr Dániel Csonka, cultural attaché of the Embassy of Hungary.
In his welcoming words, the cultural attaché congratulated the centre already hosting one of the largest collections of traditional European clothing, on the recent acquisition of valuable Hungarian embroidered textiles, among over 1400 items of European regional dress.
The exhibition special in its character can be visited until 23 February 2017 at the Textile Research Centre in Leiden (Hogewoerd 164 in Leiden), from Monday to Thursday between 10:00-16:00.
