In the framework of the 1956 commemoration season of the Embassy of Hungary in The Hague a diplomatic roundtable took place on 24 October in collaboration with the Hague Institute for Global Justice.

The panel discussion focused on the international context of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the European discourse of sovereignty. 

The panel consisted of Gergely Prőhle former Hungarian deputy state secretary, Ben Bot, former Dutch minister of foreign affairs, Dzsingisz Gábor former Dutch secretary of state and historian Dr. Laurien Crump.

The event was moderated by Joël Antonie, political advisor of the Embassy of Hungary. Closing remarks were made by Ambassador András Kocsis.
