Advent Concert in The Hague – 7 December 2025
On 7 December, the second Sunday of Advent, the Embassy, together with the Hungarian Choir of the Hague, hosted the already traditional Advent Concert in The Hague.

Welcome to our website.
As an ambassador it is a great honour for me to represent Hungary in the Netherlands. My clear objectives are to broaden and deepen our cooperation in fields such as politics, economy and culture. I am convinced that our common history, trade relations and the strong alliance in EU and NATO framework provide an excellent basis enabling to enhance and elevate our relation to a higher level.
Beyond the deep economic connections and our membership in EU and in multilateral organizations, we also have another solid fundation we can build upon: our people. The long standing relations between our countries go back to the 17th century when many Hungarian students travelled to study at Dutch universities. In the 20th century a humanitarian operation, called the children’ trains, brought our countries closer together assisting approximately 30 000 Hungarian children to participate in a holiday program in the Netherlands in order to regain their strength after the First World War. Due to the Hungarian revolution and freedom fight of 1956, a large number of Hungarian refugees left their home country, a few thousand of whom settled in the Netherlands. The Hungarians are still grateful for the assistance, and I beleive that the Hungarian people with their hard work could contribute to the increasing of the social and economic performance of the Netherlands.
I am determined to strengthen the ties between our countries as well as to find and build new bridges paving the way for the opening of a new chapter in our relations. Here we inform you about the upcoming events as well as about the news related to Hungary and the Hungarian-Dutch bilateral ties. We also publish practical information on our consular services.
