Between 23 and 25 September 2022, the Huygens festival took place in Leidschendam-Voorburg near The Hague. In addition to the Dutch and Belgian performers, musicians from the V4 countries were also present at the event according to tradition.

This year, Hungary was represented by young talents of the city of Szeged, who amazed the audience with their outstanding performances at the opening and closing concerts. Together with the Netherlands as host country, they also prepared by means of different masterclasses for a joint concert and performed together as an international orchestra at the closing concert on Sunday.

In addition, the festival also provided opportunities for other Hungarian performers during which the audience could listen to the performance of the Hungarian Choir of The Hague and Quintet M, as well as the music show of Sintiromarus and the joint production of Het Karpaten Ensemble and Trio Trabant.

On the opening day of the festival, Ambassador András Kocsis gave a welcome speech and, in accordance with the presidential decision, presented the Golden Cross of Merit of Hungary to Annet Weijermars-Corver, president of the Huygens Festival, in recognition of her activities to introduce and promote Hungarian music in the Netherlands.
