Krisztina Varga, Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of Hungary celebrated Europe Day (May 9) in Maastricht where the Treaty on the European Union was signed in 1992.

She did not only visit the Provinciehuis of the Limburg region where the signature ceremony took place, but also met with students of the European studies program of the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences.

At the University the deputy head of mission talked about Hungary, Central Europe and the history and the importance of the Visegrád alliance. She also presented the Hungarian positions on the most important issues of the EU agenda, such as the future of Europe, the next multiannual financial framework and migration. Moreover, she gave a behind-the-scene glimpse in the everyday life of diplomats. Thanks to the wide-ranging questions of the students, a vivid exchange of views took place.
