On 23 October 2022, 66 years after the outbreak of the Hungarian revolution and freedom fight against the communist dictatorship and the Soviet occupation, a joint commemoration ceremony took place in the Elisabeth Vreedehuis concert hall in The Hague. After the opening speech of Ákos Urbán – president of the Hungarian Association in the Netherlands – Ambassador András Kocsis delivered his remarks on the achievements of the freedom fight. In connection with the revolutionary events pastor János Hermán provided an overview to the audience.

On the sidelines, András Visky – writer and university professor – presented his book titled "Deportation" (Kitelepítés) in which he elaborates on his personal experiences related to the revolution. The commemoration was enriched by Hungarian music performance and the joint singing of the National Anthem.
